I love some of the latest technology that is available to us to use in this generation. One of the things I am amazed at is the GPS, and how accurate it usually is in showing us exactly where we are and the next moves we need to take.
Recently, however, we were about to go somewhere. As we started out, the GPS instructed us to turn north-west. I thought to myself,
“How in the world are we supposed to know which way north-west is from where we are? We don’t have a compass.”
We only had that strange instruction for a brief moment. Then the GPS began to give the easier instructions, like turn right or go straight for 2 kilometres. I love that. No thinking is needed.
Do you know that the Lord has you on a spiritual journey right now? He is taking each believer in a specific direction that is unique to each one. And like a modern GPS that gives you just one step at a time, so the Lord does the same thing with us.
Your job is easy. You simply have to listen to the next step the Lord is giving you and do what He says. He will never give you 10 steps at one time because that will confuse you. He will take you one small step at a time along the path that He has for you.
So, how do you hear your spiritual GPS? You need to listen for His gentle nudges about what to do or where to go each day. You could also journal and get His direction for the day, then simply carry out what He tells you.
It is so easy to do this: as easy as putting in your destination and following the GPS in your car. As you listen to the Lord and do what He leads you to do each day, your spiritual journey will be richly blessed. It may take you a while to get there because you might have many steps to take. But you will reach your destination and see the wonderful things that the Lord has planned for you.
