What does it take to live a life of abundance?
Let’s look at what it takes in the natural for a tree to grow and thrive. The most important thing it needs is a good water supply. That is how it works in the natural. Without water, the tree will have a hard time and eventually die.
Well, in the spiritual life, it is the same. You need to be watered in the spirit. That means that you need to find the source of life, which is the Lord Jesus. And He promised us that we can tap into that.
Here are two Promises from the Word that speak about being watered.
The first is talking about us being in the right place.
Psalms 1:3 He will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season; his leaf also will not wither; and whatever he does will prosper. [GBMV]
God has promised that if you stay planted in Him, you will receive that life-giving water, and you will grow. Not only will you grow, but you will yield fruit.
That means that what you do will be blessed. You will see results in your work, or in your relationships. When you make an effort to do something, it will have a result. You will live a life of abundance.
How do you receive this? You just need to make sure that you always spend time with the Lord and drink from that river deep within your spirit.
The more you do that, the more you will plant down roots, until you are tapping into the river all the time.
But what if you have failed to come into His presence? You feel dry, and you need Him to water you. Well, He will not leave you, He also says,
Isaiah 44:3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon your seed, and my blessing upon your offspring: [GBMV]
God has promised you His water. He has promised that if you are feeling dead and dry inside, He will send His water.
If you feel dry, come back to Him now. Ask Him to pour out His water on your dry ground. Ask Him for it now, and do not wait. Because He wants to pour His anointing on you right now.
Don’t forget that no matter how long it has been since you spoke to the Lord, you can come back to Him right now and receive a fresh touch.
