The Lord says,
You have been looking to me to hear my voice. You have been looking for my river to flow over you and show you my presence.
You want my river to rush into your life suddenly. You want me to change your life with my power. But it seems like the river has not been flowing.
It is as though what was once a raging river has split and slowed down to a small trickle of water. And you are crying out to see my river flow again in your life.
But my voice has not stopped, says the Lord. My power has not stopped in your life. It is still flowing, even if it is not raging anymore.
Therefore, you need to learn to tap into that small flow now, instead of looking for the big river. Because a river does not start out as a raging river, it starts out as a few drops of rain high up in the mountains. It starts out as a cloud, slowly gathering moisture, until it rains.
Then, as more and more water gathers together, a river is formed. And soon, it is a powerful force that tears through the landscape.
My presence is like this in your life today, says the Lord. So do not look to the raging river. Instead, look for my small, gentle voice speaking to you.
Do not look for a special place or time to tap into your spirit. Instead, do it where you are. Listen for my voice and listen for that small drop of water.
Every day, take me with you and listen for my voice. I am always speaking in your spirit, continually, just like those drops of water. Little by little, you can listen for my voice in everything that you do.
The more you do this, the more my river will build up in your spirit. The more you open the way for me to move in your life and speak to you.
Until one day, you see my presence in everything that you do. And then my presence will become like a raging river in your life.
Then you will see a sudden change in your life. And then you will know my power says the Lord.
